Just a Quick Note...

I want to thank Betty Lou over at Sugarland Quilts for mentioning us in her blog.  She's sharing pictures of her quilts and, lucky for us, blogs that she follows in alphabetical order!

It may not look like it to you, but my closet really is in better shape, ready for the movers. Going through it refreshed my memory....I've got some good stuff in there!

I finished cleaning up my sewing room and am now sorting through my magazines.  I love quilting magazines!  And I have subscribed to several magazines for a loooonnnngggg time!  But they have taken over!  I have been letting my subscriptions go, not renewing them.   Once I got over the phobia of, gasp, tearing them apart (you know, they are kind of like books and you just don't do that!) I realized I could keep the parts I like and have much more space on my shelves.  It just takes time to do it.  So that's what I've been working on here lately.  My sewing machine is still in the shop.  And evidently, Diana's machine felt jealous of the extra attention mine is getting, because now her machine is in the shop!  Not much sewing going on!

Because a picture of a closet is boring, here's a picture of Maggie and Fergus doing what they do best!  They are such couch puppies!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Thank you mentioning by blog LaDonna, you know your girls are my "A" girls. Your closet looks like my sewing closet----organized clutter. At least we know where things are.

  2. Honestly, I don't see much difference, but I wouldn't know a clean closet. I do believe that you've found some great stuff! Love those little boxes--how do you separate things? I'm sure you have a system.

I also hate to tear apart magazines. In fact, I still can't do it.....everything in them is good. Otherwise why would they put the info in the zine?

  3. I know, Mary, it doesn't really look much better! But it is neater and no longer spilling out of the closet! I can now shut the doors! And for the magazines, even tearing out the advertisements saves room! It got easier the more I did it!

  4. Love the couch puppies. I know what you mean about magazines. Mine are filling up my sewing room. And like you I now tear up magazines and only keep what I know I will use or like. Hope both your machines feel better real soon.

  6. I can't imagine tearing my magazines apart but then I probably don't have anywhere near as many as you. I am always afraid to open my closet in my sewing room!

  7. Your dogs are cuties. Mine are both sleeping right now also. Your closet does look better. I try to go through my magazines on a regular basis and take out the patterns I like. It doesn't do much good that I still keep the whole magazine stored elsewhere. Sounds like you are getting your move under control. Good luck. Sorry about the machine. It kind of sucks to not be sewing.

  9. I see a big difference. Everything separated into plastic boxes, bags. Lot of time and work there. Man, I need to do that. Magazines, too.
Hope the machines are well soon :(
