Yes, that's the question my dear sister asked me the other day! I feel like I don't really have anything fantastic to show so I had to dig a bit. Some of you may remember an earlier post when I showed the wall hangings for the newest nieces and nephews. Well, I finally got the last two...my own grandchildren...completed.
Almost a year ago I made a wall hanging for the granddaughter of a very dear friend and his wife. Well, lo and behold, they were gifted by their other son with another grandchild this past March. I know from past experience that one can not have something that the other does not so this newest arrival got a wall hanging also. The whole family just knew that the baby was going to be a boy. (They did not want to know; they wanted it to be a surprise.) Well, they got their surprise alright....It was a girl!!!! I was nervous about this wall hanging because her mom quilts. Got a thank you card from them and the wall hanging is now hanging on baby girl's bedroom door.
What I'm working on now...or trying to work on anyway... is a baby boy quilt that has been a folded and waiting for awhile. (It hasn't been by its lonesome, though...it has had plenty of company!!) It is slowly coming along. I have to tie off and pull threads before I can do the binding and finishing. I have no idea how long it is going to take me. I seem to have several interruptions during the day and by night I'm just plain tired! This summer my daughter is taking a much needed break from her college classes, so hopefully it will be better. But now, I have to go hem some slacks.

Note to Self
LaDonna, you no longer have carpeting. Best Press, while wonderful on fabrics, makes your beautiful hardwood floors sticky. Put down an old sheet next time. :)

Spring 2012
Most of the boxes are emptied, yay! We've made several trips to the recycle center for all the boxes and have more trips to go. Still trying to find a home for most things. (I'm missing walk-in closets!) Don't even ask about my sewing room! Disaster! This past weekend Tony, with me in a supportive role, put in a new door. I'm planning on painting it blue eventually.
Tony has also cut down several dead bushes and moved others. We've planted some lithodora with blue flowers along the front beds; can't wait for them to grow and fill out with beautiful color! The nandinas are growing, so we didn't stunt them with moving them! A couple of other plants are a little iffy, but I'm hoping they'll survive. We are having such fun planning out what flowers to put in! It's been a long time since we've been able to do this! In fact, it's been over 10 years since Tony's mowed a yard! Longer for me! ;)

Some of the blooming going on in our yard:
It's so nice to have green and flowers and rain! I think I'm lovin' it here!
