Maggie, a little nervous, kept her eye on me because the last time we cleared out a room, we moved. Fergus, not so much.
Before pictures. Painted paneling, plastic ceiling.
Ceiling down...
and on the floor.
Insulation supports coming down.
Insulation down. Tony bent up the side paneling of the sky light and immediately, our giant EZ Bake oven started cooling off. The sky light was like a magnifying glass, beaming heat and damaging light in the room.
Some of the damage. Evidently, this has been going on a while.
Removing trim so paneling can come down.
Even the trim was bad.
More paneling coming down.
Gross.
Bags of insulation.
So this week, part of my to-do list is to take the wall insulation down and bag it up. Clean up the old ceiling with the hopes of selling it and bundling the paneling into the proper size for our garbage collectors. Another busy week!
Hope your week is a good one!

That is a lot of hard work.....but it is going to be so great when you're done! I love 'before' pics! Can't wait to see your progess!
ReplyDeleteA lot of hard work but I'm sure the end project will be worth your effort. Looks like woman's work is never done!
ReplyDeleteWow that's a big yucky job! Now tell me is Tony wearing a kilt?
ReplyDeleteYes! Tony wears a kilt except to work and on the motorcycle! I'm sure you are picturing that in your head right now! This is a workman's utilitkilt, http://tinyurl.com/ykc32sp. It is heavy duty material and has all kinds of pockets and holders. Perfect for jobs like this!

WOW! That looks like so much more fun than sewing! Really!
ReplyDeleteRemodeling is always hard work, but worth it in the end. Pause for a cold drink now and then and can't wait to see the finished room!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, what a job. I know you'll love it once it's done. Glad your husband is handy, as that gets really expensive if you can't do some of the work yourself. Hopefully you'll be sewing soon.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of work! Bless your hearts. And WOW, do I love that workman's kilt!! Do you live in Scotland? (and I don't know why he wouldn't want to wear one on a motorcycle!) ;D
ReplyDeleteHey, look at the link you put up above for the utility kilts - they're having a photo contest. You should enter that one of Tony removing trim, with his left foot up against the wall!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the room finished! I miss having remodeling to do! I know that sounds crazy to someone in the middle of it all, but we've remodeled all our married life and it just doesn't seem right to not have a project!
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks like a job, but it will be well worth it when you are done. It's neat that you're tackling it together!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else...it's a mess right now but it will so be worth it! Wish I was able to be there to help out!
ReplyDeleteLove you! Diana
I hate the demolition part cause it means so much cleaning. But it's a necessary evil if you're going to accomplish anything in remodeling. You guys seem to enjoy it. Here's hoping that the sewing room finds a way to move back up the list! Have a great weekend.
