In my last post I said something about hoping to post some of the things that I had worked on while I was without my computer. Well....things didn't quite work out that way. Everything that I had "prepped" for working on was put on the back burner so I could work on a project for my neighbor. Long story short, she fell and broke her hip. While the doctors were examining her, they found out that she had also had a heart attack and a mild stroke. Thankfully, she is doing better with very little damage because of the heart and stroke issue. When I found out what had happened, I began looking for a pattern, searching for the fabric in my stash, and of course "tweaking" the pattern for a tote for her walker. It took a bit but this is what I came up with......
We do not know yet exactly when she is to come home from the hospital but her son told me to give it to her when she came home.....too big of a chance for it to "disappear". I hope that she will like it....but at least she an use it.

Such a nice gesture Diana, your neighbor will love it and find it so helpful. Her world must be turned upside down by now.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your neighbor will love this tote. So good of you to help her out. Sending healing thoughts her way!
ReplyDeleteI like how you attached the bottom sides to the walker also, would keep it flapping too much. So nice of you to make that for her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea Diana, such a thoughtful thing to do for your neighbour, I do hope she gets well soon. Great job
ReplyDeleteWhat a great neighbor you are! That should make her life a little easier, I'm sure!!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely thing to do, bet she is glad to have such loving neighbours - poor thing having a fall - how awful.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nice gift for your neighbor. I bet she loved it. I will keep this in mind as a future gift for someone in need.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I am sure she will love it. I made a similar one for my mom and she used it all the time.
ReplyDeleteYou are a true blessing for a neighbor. She will love it!

You are a great friend and neighbor...the tote looks pretty and functional.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice thing to do for a neighbor. The bag should be very handy for her. When you are on a walker, everything you want is too far to reach. Good deeds and kindness are such a blessing to the giver and the receiver.

Very nice walker tote! She is going to love it because it will free up her hands to use the walker. You are a thoughtful neighbor.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, thoughtful and practical gift. You are such a wonderful neighbor! I hope when I get old, I have a neighbor like you!!

I am sure she can't wait to get home. You are a kind and thoughtful neighbour. Such a pretty and very useful tote!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea.....my mother used a walker when recuperating from surgery, and an attached pouch would have really come in handy.....she was always trying to carry stuff AND use the walker! Sheesh! Well done! Your neighbor is going to love it!
ReplyDeleteDiana, it is so wonderful! She is blessed to have u as a neighbor. So grateful I fond you and LaDonna! Em
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gift! I hope that she can come home soon.
ReplyDeleteVery clever and thoughtful. My Nan would like something like this IF we could persuade her that her walker should go on walks with her instead of being tucked out of sight in the laundry!
ReplyDeleteIf you ever write thepattern fir sale, I would definetly buy it! You did a great job!
